Book Collecting in the ATL

Sunday's AJC featured a nice article about Bob Roarty and Jan Bolgla, owners of Atlanta Vintage Books in Chamblee, GA.   This antiquarian bookstore, located near the intersection of Dresden Drive and Clairmont Road (not too far from Buford Highway), is chock full of charm and old books - and a few cats, to boot!   Click here to read the article.

If tracking down rare books and first editions appeals to your sense of adventure (even if it's the arm-chair kind), try reading a couple of books by Nancy and Lawrence Goldstone.  The Goldstones are antiquarian experts, though they haven't always been so.  They chronicled their foray into the world of book collecting:   Used and Rare: Travels in the Book World (1997) and Slightly Chipped: Footnotes in Booklore (1999).  These books will leave you marveling and laughing at the complex world of books and collecting.

Click here to visit the A-FPLS library catalog to search for these titles.  They aren't on the shelf at Roswell, but you can place a hold on them and have them sent to you there.
