Banned Books Week 2011

Have you ever heard of Mark Twain's book Eve's Diary?  Neither have a lot of other people.  One reason why is that is was banned in 1906 in Charlton, Massachusetts.  The ban was just lifted so another Twain tome is available for all to read.  Click here to read an article about the ban in the New York Times.

Banned Books Week is September 24 - October 1, 2011.  Sponsored by the American Library Association, BBW  honors and celebrates the freedom to read.  What would life be like without To Kill a MockingbirdBeloved, or The Great Gatsby?  For a list of frequently challenged books, click here to visit ALA's website.
