Roswell Reads Programs and Events

The Roswell Reads series of events and activities kicks off this week with the Noonday Nosh Book Club discussing the 2011 selection, My Name Is Mary Sutter by Robin Oliveira.   Check out some of the exciting and informative programs listed below.

Noonday Nosh Book Club
Book discussion of My Name Is Mary Sutter
Tuesday, February 15 at 12:00 p.m.

Turn Homeward, Hannalee
Wednesday, February 16 at 4:30 p.m.
See history come to life with this portrayal of Hannalee, a Roswell mill worker during the Civil War.  Performed by popular storyteller Cathy Kaemmerlen.  Ages 8 and above - adults are welcome, too.

History of Medicine
Panel discussion includes a history of medical instruments from the Civil War.
Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m.

Exhibit of Photography Contest Photos: “Follow Your Dream”

Reception for Photography Contest and Exhibit

Sunday Afternoon at the Library with Mary Apps

The Civil War in Roswell
Sunday, February 27 at 2:30 p.m.
Local Roswell historians read letters to and from Roswell citizens of the Civil War era, giving a sense of place during the War.

Civil War Reenactors
February 27 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Soldiers at camp during the Civil War will demonstrate their daily lives on the grounds of the Roswell Library.

FINAL EVENT - A Literary Luncheon with author Robin Oliveira
Saturday, March 5 at 11:30 a.m.
Roswell Adult Recreation Center
830 Grimes Bridge Road

Tickets cost $15 each. Each ticket includes a meal.  Tickets may be purchased at the Friends of the Roswell Library's Bookstore, just inside the Roswell Library, or you may order tickets by mail using the order form included with the 2011 Program Brochure.  Books will be available for purchase and signing at the Final Event.
