Roswell Roots Presents Author Rebecca Burns

Native and long-time Atlantans will remember the time when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.  The world was on edge and our hearts were broken.  Cities around the country boiled over in anger, but Atlanta stool tall, gracious in the face of tragedy.

Meet author and former Atlanta Magazine editor, Rebecca Burns, who will discuss her book, Burial for a King: Martin Luther King Jr.'s Funeral and the Week that Transformed Atlanta and Rocked the Nation.  The book encapsulates King’s legacy, America’s shifting attitude toward race, and the emergence of Atlanta as a new kind of southern city.   Saturday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m.   Reservations are highly recommended.
